Chris Wood, Clinic Director

Registered Doctor of Chiropractic, MChiro, MSc Sports Medicine, ICSC, DNSP

Originally from Scotland, Chris arrived in London 22 years ago and stayed! He is the founder and Clinic Director of Hackney Chiropractic.

Father of two, avid sports fan, and lover of London. He has a few areas of expertise, including but not limited to: back & joint pain problems, medical acupuncture, visceral manipulation & digestive issues, sports medicine and active rehabilitation.

When he’s not at work, or spending time with his family, Chris tries to sneak in some travelling (although technically it could be considered work) and jets off to work at international sports events.

Sports Chiropractic & Sports Medicine

Chris has a passion for sport and has worked at a number of international sporting events as a Sports Chiropractor, including the The World Games in the USA, and closer to home at the TCS London Marathon. He is a member of the Federation Internationale Chiropractic du Sport (FICS) where he completed his post graduate qualification in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC), and earlier this year he completed his Masters degree in Sports Medicine with University College London, studying at the Institute for Sport, Exercise & Health on Tottenham Court Road.

He has worked as the team Chiropractor for East London Boxing Academy for the past 3 years, and recently ventured into professional boxing joining Team Jack Daly providing Chiropractic & Sports Medicine support.

Pregnancy & family care

Chris is a father of two, and followed his interest in Chiropractic care for pregnancy early on in his career, when he wanted to help & support his wife through her first pregnancy.

Chris is a certified ICPA Webster practitioner and has completed pregnancy & paediatrics training with Dr Steve Williams. He loves helping Mums-to-be, feel their best during their pregnancy. He strongly believes in Chiropractic care for individuals of all ages and abilities.

DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation)

What is IAP?

Chris has been practicing DNS since 2014, and is one of a small pool of fully certified DNS practitioners here in the UK.

As recently discussed by Dr Peter Attia on his podcast and in his recent book, DNS deals with the building blocks of movement and postural stabilisation, that we begin to develop from merely a few months of age. Chris uses DNS to help patients of all ages and abilities to optimise their performance & movement patterns, and to achieve optimal posture and stabilisation of the spine & musculoskeletal system.
